Manual

Welcome to the AppKeyId User Manual. This guide explains how to use AppKeyId to create, share, receive, and manage authenticated information using Attested Communication. Whether you are sending a private message to a colleague, publishing information through a QR code, or organizing users into teams, this manual will guide you through the features of the application.

The primary unit of information in AppKeyId is the Card. Cards are the basic objects used to share information between users. Throughout this manual, you will learn how to create different types of cards, distribute them to individual users or teams, and understand how recipients securely access and acknowledge them using FIDO2 passkeys.

You will also learn how to build and manage your Contacts. Contacts are trusted relationships between AppKeyId users that simplify sharing and collaboration. Once two users become contacts, they can easily exchange cards and participate together in teams.

For larger groups, AppKeyId provides Teams. Teams allow you to organize users into managed collections that can receive shared cards as a group. Teams can be populated manually by their managers or automatically through the use of Capture Cards, allowing users to securely join a team by following a link or scanning a QR code and authenticating with their passkey.

Finally, this manual describes the Profile menu, where you manage your personal account. Here you can update your profile information and avatar, register additional passkeys for your devices, configure application settings, manage your subscription plan, and review the activity logs that provide an auditable history of your AppKeyId activity.

The chapters that follow are organized around the major areas of the application—Cards, Contacts, Teams, and Profile Management—providing step-by-step guidance for using every feature of AppKeyId effectively and securely.

Throughout this manual, we use a compact web interface that mirrors the experience of using AppKeyId on a mobile device. AppKeyId is fully responsive and can be used interchangeably on both mobile devices and desktop computers. While the user experience is consistent across platforms, authoring and editing cards is generally more efficient on a desktop, where the larger screen and full keyboard provide a more comfortable workspace.
